Targeted Storytelling That Speaks Directly to the People Making Decisions

Recommended by top agents and casting directors. A P Wilding is London's Leading Headshot Expert, specializing in high-end, cinematic headshots capturing casting directors’ attention.

The industry is fast, saturated, and unforgiving. Every casting director is flooded with submissions — so unless your headshot, Spotlight profile, and showreel are telling one clear, compelling story, you’re getting lost in the scroll.

This Isn’t Just About Headshots. It’s About Control.

Only 2% of actors make a living in this crazy game.

The rest are floating — unclear on what they offer, and blending into the noise.

This is your moment to decide:

Do you want to keep hoping something changes?

Or do you want to take control of how you’re seen, cast, and remembered?

The good news? You can stand out — but only if you start thinking like a business, not a hopeful.

Why Work With Me

Because I used to be you.

Back when I was acting, I had no idea what made a headshot actually work. My agent said, “Look like yourself… and look gorgeous, baby!” ...Helpful.

Now, with 15 years in front of the camera — and over a decade behind it — I know what connects. I’ve worked with thousands of actors and heard consistent feedback from agents and casting directors about the impact my work has on getting through the door.

This isn’t about luck — it’s strategy. And with over 90,000 actors on Spotlight alone, standing out isn’t optional. It’s essential.

We’ll deep-dive into your casting range, design your look, and plan every detail — from emotion to wardrobe. Before you even show up, I’ve already done the groundwork: studied your Spotlight, reels, socials — identified what’s working and what’s holding you back.

I don’t just take headshots. I craft a visual identity that positions you exactly where you need to be seen.

If your image doesn’t scream clarity, confidence and purpose in under a second, you’re out. Top actors don’t wing it. They engineer every edge.

This is that edge.

If You Don’t Take Action...

You’ll keep booking headshots without a clear casting direction

Your Spotlight profile will stay vague, confusing, or forgettable

You’ll continue sending out self-tapes and reels that don’t hit the mark

Agents and CDs will keep overlooking you — not because you’re not good, but because they don’t know what they’re looking at

Most actors never address the real issue: MISALIGNMENT.

They have talent, they train, they invest in new headshots — but nothing changes. Why? Because they’re building their career without a brand.

If you don’t take control of your positioning, the industry won’t do it for you.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING...

"I have worked with A P Wilding Photography multiple times and each time has been an amazing experience...She has a real gift for capturing more than just a headshot - she translates your goals, essence, and artistic direction into images that truly represent you.   Understanding the genres that suit us naturally, as well as the kind of work we align with, is key... Alexa listens, advises, and ensures that every shot reflects who you are and where you're headed.  A huge thank you for truly listening to my goals and translating them into incredible headshots" Sara Figueiredo, Actor

"Her wealth of knowledge on headshots, branding and casting types is invaluable...we talked through my spotlight profile and expectations for what I needed from headshots which was brilliant. It meant we could work in a really focussed way ...a dream to work with... the best in the business" Emma Riches, Actor

"Simply the best headshot photographer in London. End of....."

Mark Chivers, parent to actor Benjamin Chivers, star of The Devil's Hour

"I had the most amazing session...Normally I dread having headshots...but I had so much fun and felt super comfortable with Alexa the entire time. At the start she shares with you this fountain of knowledge about how Spotlight works and what Casting Directors look for. She talks through what sort of looks/range you're going for and then helps you pick out those looks from the clothes you bring (which takes so much stress out of it). Alexa gives such simple but effective directions the photos look fantastic. I will 100% be coming back to Alexa for all future headshots." Alice Cleeve, Actor

"The most incredible headshot experience I’ve had! ...From the minute I met Alexa she disarmed any nerves I had with her lovely and bubbly personality. Then  she went through everything we were about to do and why. She showed me how to further enhance my spotlight page as well which was invaluable information. Then shooting was incredibly easy armed with all the knowledge I now had.

Cannot recommend this woman enough for anyone looking to either get new headshots or getting headshots for the first time. Wish I met Alexa years ago !!" Sam Thackwell, Actor

"You got rid of my headshot trauma!...I had the most wonderful experience with Alexa. She takes so much time making sure that each look is specific and plays to your strengths. She made me feel so settled and comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. The whole process felt like a collaboration and was genuinely the best headshot experience I’ve had to date. thank you for changing the way I feel about headshot sessions! ❤️" Saskia Mollard, Actor

"Not just a photoshoot, but an unforgettable experience...The depth of knowledge and expertise Alexa gave us was truly mind-blowing Pooja Kotecha-Patel, parent of  actor Param Patel

"A session with her is like taking a masterclass...her understanding of casting is in a league of its own. No-one else comes close" David Waterman

"Alexa gave us a much needed and hugely appreciated masterclass in Casting , Spotlight and general industry knowledge with the added bonus of creating some absolutely stunning photos to fit what she knew we needed.. the minute we stepped in we were in very safe hands.. .and my daughter repeated about a dozen times on the way home how much she liked her. High praise indeed! ;) . We will be returning!" Cathy Edmunds, parent of actor Adelaide Barham

"How amazing is Alexa...Great before and after talks, making note and showing us examples of good showreels and monologues... She had everything there from useful hair accessories and a variety of hair products even for black afro hair, which is rare...The studio space had lots of amazing natural light so great views looking over gardens in Brixton.

She's the creme de la creme hence why her waiting list is the way it is...You get what you pay for basically. Top Notch service." Carmella Woolhead, parent to actor Emiah-Lai Woolhead

When Do You Need New Headshots?

A good clue to you needing new shots is when your hit rate with self-tapes starts to slow down ( i.e. you get self-tapes through but you don't hear back again). Assuming your acting is fabulous, it usually means you're looking a little different to your headshot.

You should look JUST like your headshot. Casting directors spend seconds looking at your shots, so be conscious of this and raise your chance of being shortlisted by making their life easy.

Headshots for adults normally last around two years unless you change your hair/eyebrows/beard/weight etc. in which case you should replace them ASAP.

Under 16s normally need yearly shots as they change very quickly.

I do not run a photo studio with many different photographers under one roof meaning I deliver a consistent quality & signature style but this does mean I have limited availability and am usually fully booked 2-3 months in advance. So, I run a wait list to advise those waiting of new availability and last minute sessions.

If you would like to be added, please email me.

Please be aware the list is quite long so ideally plan a few months in advance to avoid disappointment.

Hey, headshots are the most important treasure in your arsenal in this acting game, so never leave it to the last minute.
