Move From Where You Are - To Where You Want to Be.

Recommended by top agents and casting directors, A P Wilding is London's Leading Headshot Expert, specializing in high-end, cinematic storytelling capturing casting directors’ attention.

The casting process is fast - very fast. In an industry this brutal, your headshot can’t just be ‘good.’ It has to speak.

Casting directors scan 100's of faces at a time. You get seconds - maybe less - to make them stop at your shot.

You need cinematic, emotionally charged headshots that tell a story that makes the viewer instinctively stop and 'feel'.

Because in this industry, being forgettable isn’t an option.

Why believe me?

Because I used to be you.

As an actor, I had no idea what really made a headshot work. My agent would just say: “Look like yourself...and look gorgeous, baby!” Helpful.

Now, after more than 10 years behind the camera, hearing feedback from clients, agents and casting directors,  I know what actually gets results and I’m here to share those insights with you.

Acting is a global, multi-million-pound industry and the competition is fierce.

With over 90,000 actors on Spotlight alone, standing out isn’t just important - it’s essential.

Understanding how to navigate this competitive landscape and play the game strategically is what separates those who get noticed from those who don’t.

Move from where you are now - to where you want to be. Don't leave it to chance.

Are you ready for change?

Are you ready for change?

Do you make it easy for casting directors to say yes?

Are your headshots truly opening doors and moving you forward in the casting process?

Do you have a diverse range of images that showcase your full casting potential?

Are you using Spotlight strategically - capturing attention, holding interest with reels and self-tapes?

Can your agent confidently submit you for every role you're right for?

Do your reels and subsequent self tapes look JUST like you do in the headshots?

If the answer to any of these is no, I can help you.

How I Work.

My process is highly focused and intentional. We’ll dig deep into your casting range through thorough consultation. Together, we’ll build mood boards, design shot lists, and plan everything from lighting to hair and wardrobe.

This can't be left to luck - it’s targeted storytelling that speaks directly to the people making decisions.

I began my creative journey in art college, where I developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling. I was also modelling and this led to opportunities in acting and singing. After 15 years in front of the camera, I moved behind it - first shooting fashion and editorial, and now specializing in acting portraits. My work is shaped by a deep understanding of performance, presence, and emotion.

In addition, my fascination with the casting process - combined with over a decade of experience photographing actors - allows me to share valuable insights and help you move confidently from where you are to where you’re meant to be.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING...

"I have worked with A P Wilding Photography multiple times and each time has been an amazing experience...She has a real gift for capturing more than just a headshot - she translates your goals, essence, and artistic direction into images that truly represent you.   Understanding the genres that suit us naturally, as well as the kind of work we align with, is key... Alexa listens, advises, and ensures that every shot reflects who you are and where you're headed.  A huge thank you for truly listening to my goals and translating them into incredible headshots" Sara Figueiredo, Actor

"Her wealth of knowledge on headshots, branding and casting types is invaluable...we talked through my spotlight profile and expectations for what I needed from headshots which was brilliant. It meant we could work in a really focussed way and I never once felt rushed.

The whole process of choosing outfits, to changing hair and makeup Alexa was on hand to advice, tweak and help out. I felt like I was in the hands of a true professional ...a dream to work with... the best in the business" Emma Riches, Actor

"I had the most amazing session...Normally I dread having headshots...but I had so much fun and felt super comfortable with Alexa the entire time. At the start she shares with you this fountain of knowledge about how Spotlight works and what Casting Directors look for. She talks through what sort of looks/range you're going for and then helps you pick out those looks from the clothes you bring (which takes so much stress out of it). Alexa gives such simple but effective directions the photos look fantastic. I will 100% be coming back to Alexa for all future headshots." Alice Cleeve, Actor

"The most incredible headshot experience I’ve had! ...From the minute I met Alexa she disarmed any nerves I had with her lovely and bubbly personality. Then  she went through everything we were about to do and why. She showed me how to further enhance my spotlight page as well which was invaluable information. Then shooting was incredibly easy armed with all the knowledge I now had.

Cannot recommend this woman enough for anyone looking to either get new headshots or getting headshots for the first time. Wish I met Alexa years ago !!" Sam Thackwell, Actor

"You got rid of my headshot trauma!...I had the most wonderful experience with Alexa. She takes so much time making sure that each look is specific and plays to your strengths. She made me feel so settled and comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. The whole process felt like a collaboration and was genuinely the best headshot experience I’ve had to date. thank you for changing the way I feel about headshot sessions! ❤️" Saskia Mollard, Actor

"Not just a photoshoot, but an unforgettable experience...The depth of knowledge and expertise Alexa gave us was truly mind-blowing The photos are stunning, of course, but this was so much more than just pictures. Thank you for a fantastic day, Alexa! Pooja Kotecha-Patel, parent of  actor Param Patel

"Alexa gave us a much needed and hugely appreciated masterclass in Casting , Spotlight and general industry knowledge with the added bonus of creating some absolutely stunning photos to fit what she knew we needed.. the minute we stepped in we were in very safe hands.. .and my daughter repeated about a dozen times on the way home how much she liked her. High praise indeed! ;) . We will be returning!" Cathy Edmunds, parent of actor Adelaide Barham

"How amazing is Alexa...Great before and after talks, making note and showing us examples of good showreels and monologues... She had everything there from useful hair accessories and a variety of hair products even for black afro hair, which is rare...The studio space had lots of amazing natural light so great views looking over gardens in Brixton.

She's the creme de la creme hence why her waiting list is the way it is...You get what you pay for basically. Top Notch service." Carmella Woolhead, parent to actor Emiah-Lai Woolhead
